Sadly, parents are lost, friends are lost, family members are lost – how do we grieve in a way that’s healing to our body, spirit, and soul?
In "A Way to Grieve," Alla mentions being unmoored. In 2013, I lost my parents eight months apart – just over a year later, I lost one of my sisters. I felt like an unmoored boat floating in the middle of a very large lake searching for a dock to tie up my soul. Alla’s poem, “A Way to Grieve” was a gift that guided me through my unraveling days, weeks, months, and years.
“A Way to Grieve,” by Alla Renée Bozarth, can be found in the unpublished book-in-progress, My Passion for Art© 2008. Photograph by Lucy Lind Hogan, taken in 2017 after Hurricane Nate passed through Bonita Beach, Florida. Designed by Susan Lind-Kanne.
“A Way to Grieve” is available in both a Soul Card and a Full-page Art Piece.
Each Soul Card is printed on textured watercolor paper suitable for framing. It’s decorated with a spot of gold and/or silver applied with a prayer of Grace for the recipient of the Soul Card. The Soul Card arrives in a clear, sealed sleeve with an illustrated envelope and a gold-foil sticker.
